Workshop: “Health Implications of the Transnational Movement of People”
The ISHHR Local Organising Committee is pleased to announce that the Central European Initiative (CEI) and the NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors (STARTTS) will be hosting a one day workshop on the 24th of November in the city of Novi Sad.
The event will be focused on the “Health Implications of the Transnational Movement of People” with an aim of:
- Sharing information on the current state of affairs in terms of asylum seeker, refugee and migrant accommodation and the sanitary conditions of reception centres;
- Discussing the implications of the transnational mass movement of people on general health and mental health; and,
- Producing recommendations for governments, public and civil society actors in the Central European region
Attendance at the workshop will be free of charge and we thoroughly recommend health practitioners including doctors, psychologists, counsellors and other support workers, as well as policy makers, advocates and students to participate in the event.
